Who we are

York Holmes Consulting. Inc. (YHC) has been providing comprehensive human resources and management services to small to mid-size companies in a wide range of industries for over twenty years. Unlike the many online or membership types of services on the market, YHC provides personal, on-site (or off), strategic and hands-on expertise where and when you need it.  YHC can manage your entire human resources function, help you hire the people to get the job done, and/or provide guidance to your existing staff.

YHC recognizes that each client has unique goals, business climates and work cultures.   We are sensitive to your environment and historical practices.  Budget considerations and time constraints are taken into account and custom programs are designed to fit the needs specific to each individual client.  Moreover, we think like business owners with an eye on the cost/benefit measure of our services.  We are dedicated to providing a return on your investment of time, money and trust.

Sherri Holmes, Founder and President, with over twenty years executive level human resources and business management experience, is certified by both HRCI and SHRM a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR, SCP). She is a speaker and trainer to numerous organizations and has served as an expert witness.

HRCI certification is a career-long commitment that demonstrates dedication, credibility and a mastery of the principles of human resources to your employers, clients, staff members and professional peers around the globe. Certification attests to the investment you have made in your HR career and holds a recognized place in the profession.


To become certified, you must meet strict professional experience and educational requirements before taking the exam. To remain certified, you must stay current in the HR profession and recertify every three years. You display your certification by putting the credential after your name.
